Did she say surprise?
I love surprises!
I wonder what it is.
Chocolate cake for every meal?
I know! Bekah wants to gift me an all-expenses paid trip to Spain! Yes, that must be it. (Why is she shaking her head no?)
Wait, what’s that you say? I have to check back on Thursday for the news? Seriously? Three more whole days?
But I’m not really patient. I don’t like to wait for anything. I can barely wait 12 minutes for chocolate chip cookies to bake. I don’t even want to wait another hour for the surprise. I’m so excited, I can’t stand it.
WHAT’S THE SURPRIIIIIIIIIIIIISE?
Oh, really? There will be lots of new? Will it be shiny and sparkly? Maybe?
Ah, the surprise is killing me!
Can you give me just a little hint? Like a teensy weensy, hint? What? What’s that you say? Come close so you can whisper?
run, run, run. crane ear. (listen)
eyes open wide. throw hands in the air. jump. jump. jump. Happy Dance!
THERE’S GOING TO BE A GIVEAWAY? AN EPIC, UPCYCLED GIVEAWAY? AND THAT’S NOT ALL? YOU WANT ME TO INVITE ALL MY FRIENDS TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY AND TO HEAR ABOUT THE SURPRISE TOO?
Like all of them? Even my grandma and the postman? You want me to invite them to come back Thursday so we can all hear about the surprise?
Alright, I’ll do that. I’ll tell everyone I know that you have a surprise, and that they should come here on Thursday for the big news! (rub hands together) Yes, I’ll share it on Facebook. Yes, I’ll tell my grandma. I can’t promise on the postman. Oh, I soooo hope a pony comes with the giveaway.
I’ll be patient. I’ll just park myself right here on your porch and wait ’til Thursday, and when the sun peeks over the hills, and you fling open the door and invite me in for a latte, and a tray of chocolate croissants, then, and-only-then will my curiosity be piqued. I may not rest until then.
Start baking. I’m bringing everyone I know. They like surprises too.
As long as I’m the one that takes home the givaway. And any leftover chocolate croissants.
Oh, I love surprises.
